Armed Fugitive With ₹50,000 Bounty Injured in Police Shootout in Aligarh
A wanted criminal with a ₹50,000 bounty was injured and arrested after a shootout with police in Aligarh’s Tappal area. Officers recovered a country-made pistol and cartridges from the scene, while senior officials and forensic teams launched an investigation. According to officials, a police team encountered Shaka during an operation in the Tappal police station limits. When officers attempted to stop him, he allegedly opened fire, prompting a swift retaliatory response. The exchange left the accused injured, enabling officers to overpower and arrest him at the scene.
Police recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges and four spent shells from the encounter site. Senior officers, including the Senior Superintendent of Police, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), the Circle Officer and a forensic team, reached the location shortly afterward to inspect the spot and initiate a detailed investigation into the sequence of events.
Authorities noted that Shaka has been on their radar for a considerable time due to his involvement in various criminal activities, and his apprehension is expected to bolster ongoing efforts to curb violent crime in the region. The probe will also examine ballistic evidence and procedural compliance surrounding the shootout.
